CHATTING IT UP WITH…..Connor Harris

May 18, 2020

7th Grader, Homeschooler

Playing the upcoming roles of both Student Ensemble TTT Senior’s “Freaky Friday” and Zeus in TTT’s Junior’s “Hercules”

TTT: What have been the highlights of your theater journey?

CH: I started with TTT in a production of “Snow White” as the man who tangos with the Evil Queen! It was funny because the Queens, Emma and Grace, were so much taller than me. Another one of my favorite roles was being a Thug in “Rapunzel Unbraided”. I liked it because it was a relaxed part and I had my first solo. I got my first really big part when I was double cast as Conrad Birdie in “Bye Bye Birdie”. It was challenging because I had so many costume changes. I think I made the costume lady mad and she made me do a whole bunch of costume changes!

TTT: What is your dream role? (and from what show)

CH: My dream role is to be in a one man show called “Connor with an O”. I would sing opera rap songs and flying around on a wire system, in case I wanted to fly. I just love to perform. I think if I had an opportunity to do it professionally, to make a living off of what I do, that would be incredible.

TTT: What has been your favorite role you've had so far?

CH: My favorite role so far has been Shrek in “Shrek Jr”. It was also my most challenging role. I had to learn a whole new accent the costume was very intense. I couldn’t hear much cowl covering my ears and sometimes it was hard to breathe with the nose piece on. I loved it because my best friend was one of the Donkey’s and my other best friend was a Fiona. It was the best to spend time on and off stage with them.

TTT: What have been some of your favorite things to do during quarantine.

CH: For sure, playing Minecraft with my friends! I have been trying to learn guitar, but one of the strings is broken and its hard to find places open to re-string them right now. I spend a lot of time with my family- mostly with my mom- we end up watching a lot of 80’s and 90’s movies and the Bachelor Presents Listen to Your Heart (which I secretly love)

TTT: What is the first thing you are looking forward to doing as soon as the quarantine is lifted?

CH: Sleepover with the Boys!

On May 10th, the world lost one of the most amazing, young men you could ever meet. Connor Harris passed away from complications after back surgery. He will forever be a part of TTT and we are grateful for the impact he had on so many.

In 2020, during the difficult quarantine due to the Covid variant, TTT's Senior Show, "Freak Friday" and Junior Show, "Hercules" were both postponed for safety reasons.

TTT attempted zoom both the rehearsals and social times so the cast

could still have a creative outlet.

For several months, we posted interviews with both casts so they could feel special during such a difficult, and sometimes lonely, time period.

Here is Connor's Interview.....
